Copper Chromium & Copper Chromium Zirconium

Copper Chromium & Copper Chromium Zirconium Alloy is a high conductivity material with high softening temperature and excellent hot impact strength. It’s high Electrical and Thermal Conductivity, and excellent physical properties are imparted as it is precipitation hardened. Addition of Zirconium improves the softening temperature and hot impact strength.

APPLICATIONS :

  • Current carrying parts of electrical switchgear, Bus bars and Short Circuit Bars and Rings for electrical machines.
  • Moulds for Casting Ingots of non-ferrous and ferrous metals and alloys.
  • Electrodes for resistance / seam / flash butt welding

PRODUCT DELIVERY FORMS AVAILABLE:

  • Extruded and drawn Round Bars.
  • Squares, Hexagons, Flats and Profiles.
  • Forged sleeves / bushes, rings, discs.
  • Die forged parts.

SPECIAL GRADES:

For special applications, vacuum melted grade wherein melting and alloying is carried out under high vacuum with complete exclusion of air and without any negative influence of melt environment, can also be offered. This grade of alloy is fine grained having oxygen content less than 40ppm.
